Iceland is at a unique crossroads. Because of an economic meltdown
in the banking sector, a deep sense is among the nation that a
fundamental change is needed in order to prevent such events from
taking place again. At such times it is important to seek a collective
future vision and take a course that will bring the nation and the
parliament closer together.
On February 17th a parliamentary resolution will be filed at the
Icelandic parliament suggesting that Iceland will position itself
legally with regard to the protection of freedoms of expression and
information. This suggestion for a future vision has sparked great
enthusiasm both within the parliament and among those it has been
introduced to.
According to Reporters Sans Frontiers (RSF), Iceland went from being
placed first in the world for freedom of expression (2007) to 9th
(2009). It is time this trend was rectified.

Since its founding 1999 blast furnace radio has gone to 11 uprisings against globalization, to Bagdad for the first anniversary of the war, New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and seven visits since, now our video gang has been heading to rock creek, West Virginia to expose the ecological disaster and resistance to mountain top removal..

On May 30 at approximately 3:30pm, Montreal riot police began violently evicting the Autonomous Social Centre, which was launched the evening prior on St-Patrick street at the corner of Atwater, in the neighborhood of Point St-Charles.

I want to draw your attention on the Telecoms Package that he European Parliament is about to vote in second reading in April… Certain amendments in the Telecoms package are posing serious threats to fundamental rights, privacy and civil liberties, by legalizing a European-wide “graduated response” against citizens and controlling peoples usage of the Internet. According to amendments pushed by AT&T, “network management practices” could be used to discriminate what content, services and applications users could access and use. Povodom izricanja kazne zatvora vukovarskom blogeru reagiralo je Hrvatsko novinarsko društvo. Podsjećamo Damiru Fintiću dosuđena je dvadesetodnevna zatvorska kazne zbog kaznenog djela klevete protiv časti i ugleda. Sud je presudio jer Fintić nije u roku platio novčanu kaznu 3.000 kuna.
